Add a Concrete Deck to Your Pool

Custom Concrete Pool Deck
If you’ve always dreamed of stepping into the inviting and refreshingly cool water of your own pool, then an in-ground pool is the perfect solution. We were thinking about adding a larger deck around our existing pool, but were worried that concrete might be a bit slippery. Salzano Custom Concrete let us know that an abrasive, non-skid additive is added to their stamped concrete projects, which provides a durable a non-slip surface.

Landscaping Around the Pool

The concrete company also mentioned that they’ve partnered with local landscaping companies to offer their customers a complete solution to their outdoor entertaining needs. After our stamped concrete deck installation was complete, the landscape team came in and replanted the gardens around the pool, turning our backyard into a beautiful outdoor oasis.

Cool Blue Pool

The concrete can be stamped into any pattern you want, including the hand-hewn looking slate tiles shown this photo of our pool installation. Concrete color is permanent, it won’t flake off and a final seal coat locks in the color for many years to come.

There’s no need to worry if the surface starts to look dull or chalky. This just means you need to reseal the surface with a fresh coat of sealer. Concrete sealers are available in low, medium or high-gloss depending on how you want the final project to look. A matt surface is great for patio areas around the grill, but you can also choose a high-gloss finish, which makes the concrete look wet even when dry.

Stamped Concrete Designs

Multi-Level Patio by Salzano Concrete
Designer Concrete Installations

Take a look at our photo, which showcases an addition to our backyard by Salzano Custom Concrete. We asked for a multi-level patio, with built-in seating and custom landscape lighting. We wanted to be able to setup our gas grill away from the area where our family and guests would be sitting.

The stamped concrete company came up with the perfect solution. The final project gave us a large area for our patio furniture, which features a seating wall in the back and columns for our lights, which will be installed at a later date. The wall and columns are made from neutral colored river stones topped with gray slate. The flooring of our multi-level deck features buff colored flagstone with a red brick border.

Do you want to know what the most amazing thing is about this project? It’s entirely made out of colored, stamped concrete! Concrete is durable, economically priced and easy to maintain. We simply sweep everything clean using a broom, or for a more thorough cleaning we use or power washer.

Multi-Surface Design with Stamped Concrete

Salzano has many patterns of stamped concrete to choose from. Your concrete can be any color you want, choose from in-stock colors or ask your contractor about custom concrete and grout colors. The most popular pattern designs include brick, cobblestone, flagstone and wood.

We were very intrigued by the look of the wood pattern. Many homeowners are adding a wood-flooring look in areas subject to moisture, such as bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements. So the next time you are planning a home improvement project, why not think about a adding a custom concrete installation to your backyard!

Add a Concrete Floor to Your Bathroom

Concrete "Wood" Floor.
We’re thinking about remodeling our small half bathroom, and want to get rid of the old, chipped tile floor. We like the look of wood, but that’s not really a good option for an area that is continually damp.

Faux Wood Concrete Floors

After doing a bit of research on the Internet, we found the Salzano Custom Concrete Facebook page and were happy to see many photos of their client’s projects. They recently installed a new floor as part of a basement remodel. At first glance it looked like the new flooring was made out of wood, but we were surprised when it turned out to be stamped concrete!

There are many patterns and colors available so you can have a floor that mimics the look of wood, brick, flagstones or whatever you want. Concrete floors are durable, easy to install and don’t require a lot of maintenance.

Low Maintenance Concrete Flooring

Did you know that concrete flooring is the perfect option for areas subject to high humidity and moisture, such as a bathroom, laundry room or utility room? Concrete floors are economically priced, easy to keep up and when properly sealed, resistant to moisture.

We learned that the only possible downside to this kind of flooring is that you’ll have to occasionally reseal the surface. Clean up is a breeze as you simply use a broom, vacuum or damp mop to remove any dirt or grime.

A properly sealed concrete floor will give you many years of use, resist staining and is resilient to both mold and mildew. We are more than likely adding a concrete “wood” floor to our powder room redesign.

Is your driveway starting to crack and crumble? While you could run out to your local home improvement store and buy a bucket of that asphalt repair goo, that’s probably not the most aesthetically pleasing solution.

Did you know that Salzano Custom Concrete offers premium repair of cracks and breaks in concrete driveways, sidewalks and patio floors? We can replace or repair anything made of concrete, with the know-how to keep you happy, at the lowest price around.

Driveway repairs are one of our specialties and we can add a stamped pattern and custom colors to the final layer. Take a look at a recent job we completed for a customer, where we made their driveway look like gray flagstone lined with red brick. But guess what? The entire project is made out of colored, stamped concrete!

Wood Styled Concrete Flooring

Concrete wood style floor by Salzano Custom Concrete.
Faux wood floors, made of concrete, are one of the latest trends in the interior design industry. The Lushome website mentions that “polished concrete flooring is ideal for contemporary home interiors that your want to look simple and neat. Polished concrete floors are easy to clean, as these flooring ideas create less porous surfaces.”

Different Styles of Stamped Concrete

Why would you want to choose a stamped concrete floor over more traditional flooring? Wood or tile floors are more difficult to keep up, can scratch or chip and are susceptible to damage if installed in a damp area, such as a basement or outdoor patio. Unless you get up close and carefully inspect our projects, it’s almost impossible to tell that the floor is made from stamped concrete and not real cobblestones or wood floorboards.

Don’t settle for boring old concrete floors anymore. Did you know you can choose from many different patterns of stamped concrete from our company, Salzano Custom Concrete? Ask to see photos of our current installations, including a basement floor we made look like a wood floor.

Low Maintenance Concrete Flooring

This popular flooring trend allows home owners to get the look of wood in areas not usually recommended for a wood floor installation such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms. There’s no need to worry about pet accidents or spilled milk on a concrete floor as they are nearly impervious to moisture and clean up quickly with a damp mop.

There are many styles of concrete flooring to choose from including a stamped concrete pattern, which mimics the look of brick. We add custom colors and stains to the flooring before applying a final finish to seal and protect the surface of the concrete. So the next time you’re planning a remodeling project, consider adding a stylish concrete floor to the design.
